I’ll put my Tony Stark hat on and find a way!

What are your thoughts on pet products/collars? Where it’s too expensive to use an AirTag, too small to print a QR, and cheap to attach owner info without a custom stamp metal/print?

As for the cost barrier, I would say yes the technology is not cost prohibitive to manufacture at scale for the chips. Very minimal material usage

Good points, I think each will have its place. From a sustainability/eco perspective it doesn’t make sense to ship DVDs back and forth. Similarly it’s not optimal to print QR codes/business cards repetitively. Just my two cents

Tertiary point, QR is one time use and NFC can be re-programmed with our app alongside durability. This is a good exercise for me I appreciate it

On a secondary note, airline luggage goes through quite rough handling, I doubt re-printing QR is something people want to do once it fades. We’ll have to see how the market likes the product, NFC may have a similar trajectory to the original role of bubble wrap used as wallpaper :)

A lot of it for me is the overall user experience. A 1-9 physical flipphone number keyboard can send text messages as quickly as phone screens. On a long enough time frame the better experience comes out on top, and personally I find that NFC is much better, seamless, and discrete once you get used to it. Products are very much experimental, like Taco Bell is with its menu items.
