Too much honesty, or not enough? What do I mean? MY company has been incorporated for about a year now, and we've been trying to accomplish this mission of building an augmented-reality platform full-time for about 3 years. An idea that bloomed for us over 10 years ago. It seems like everyone in the industry is raising m/billions in the same arena and here we are, just writing white papers, signing up for what seems like cool start-up services that we won't use to full capacity. Eating beans.
I'm tired of playing with spreadsheets, presentations, and writing white papers. Most significantly I'm tired of eating beans.
I want to raise my first round of funding. Fly to Hong Kong, talk in person to the only person that I know who's manufacturing for our specific case. Who is pretty much our Top Secret partnership?
I don't want to start hiring "*ASAP.*". I want to start hiring *now*, this moment. I want a building I can go to, where I can say this is _work_, then go home and say this, this is home and not be as confused between bed and desk. I want to have my MVP in hand. I want to feel it, hold it. Then I want 10,000 of them ready-for-sale and distribution. I'm tired of numbers. I want form.
want, want, want...
Have a look at one of those Bean Counting Papers, and bypass the payment gateway
https://ziawe.com/iris/
(Guess we're not important enough for stripe and we don't want to raise money by selling white papers anyway.)
First make research and plan your goal and take right action on it.
Thank you to everyone that is commenting! It means so much to get your feedback and comments! It's interesting to see how other people "see" me and my brand.
I am confused, but I get confused easily. So these are glasses for ar/vr right? Are you selling them currently and what apps do they run, can I see my fortnite match in 3rd? The website doesnt tell me who you are, your team or what you have done before.
Don't be the too confused guy, they do have Augmented Reality yes, not VR. We are only selling the reservations right now. We haven't partnered with epic. Don't really think I am relevant enough to be on my own website, at least I don't think it is necessary. I think the product should sell itself. Through word of mouth and HYPE. Either, I am still trying to get the word out day-by-day. It will run simple AR Simulations based on UNITY, currently attempting to partner with GOOGLE to license their OS. It's not looking too good. I talk too much. Leak too much.
Yes, the people behind a startup matter very much!
Your website does not give me any confidence https://ziawe.com/.
Never seen anyone else trying to flog the spec/business plan for a fiver before. Got any sales?
It was a lot cheaper to source from a five, but the direction was mine. :) I'll add a team page to my site, you are right about the team. My team is losing morale due to the long wait without funding, and business structure. What can I do to raise consumer confidence? I'm interested in customer engagement. Thank you.
I was going to suggest you tap into 3,611 Volunteers we have on https://skilledup.life. But if your own morale is down, I am not sure whether it would do any good.
That's why I was trying to first understand your proposition. To me, you are trying to tackle a big problem.
One option may be to opensource some of the build. I've never run an opensource project, so can't really help there.
You can still have a commercial component.
thank you
Manojranaweera, I really need to google into how how open source projects work with for-profit organizations.
MySQL, Mulesoft and many others had an open-source arm. Not looked in to hardware based opensource projects though.
Is this some kind of AR headset? What's different about this than what is out there already?
Yes, an AR HUD. There is no difference between this and other competitors, except that we don't have anyone to report to, or anyone to let down. We are trying really hard to partner with Google to lease their OS and partner with UNITY to integrate with their Developer Kit.
Apologies, not intending to be rude. We are attempting to go through a Google Accelerator talking with a super nice lady from Google, and we PLAN on using Unity as our development environment, to build the apps for it. We have a lot of work. Building the platform, where people can download the apps built in Unity, grandiosity would be nice, but it's not something we have the liberty to have now.
I would suggest - rethink how you answer.
I know you have been at this for a long time. Don't lose the professionalism. Explain in clear sentences as much as possible.
People are giving their time to listen to you. Respect it please.
Not sure what to make of your grandiose answers here..'partner with google to lease their OS', 'partner with Unity'..
Are you ok?
What are you building?
What problem will it solve, and for whom?
What's the issue with Stripe?
We are building a new way to look at the world, and changing the way we compute. We will solve being stuck at home on your computer all day, instead of experiencing the real world with friends and fam, for the masses.
How?
99% Burnout! 1% Success.
Seriously though, we want to build a tool where people can interact with what we call legacy devices.
Mobile Phones, Tablets, Computers, Watches, TVs, Data Centers even. Using Augmented Reality. So it enhances your computing experiences with devices. Simple interactions at first like controlling mice, unlocking your mobile devices with just your sight, changing apps on your TV with your vision, and controlling the datacenter cloud.
Other than flogging the white paper, what have you built so far? What's available right now?
We need access to the hardware we want to implement. I've talked to the manufacturer we want to partner with to iterate on their tech. We simply can't afford to pay what their asking price is.
What are your alternatives?
build it. Like all the YouTube kids. :\
Honestly, We are attempting a more structured approach; honestly.
Using a type of minimally embedded system into the frames is what we are hoping to accomplish. Something a little bit more to the specs on raspberry pi Zero. Without the I/O headers, without usb connector, without the SIM card.
The display alternatives are not available.
Honestly, all those YouTube kids are quite impressive, but we aren't looking for that approach, on the display.
Ramen is also an acceptable staple food for founders.....
Personally, some sushi would be nice :p
