Ourlime Private Communities Network
Shared by rishikowlessar · 35d ago · 24 comments

My network (project) Ourlime. Ourlime was envisioned as a private community social platform. Ourlime prioritizes Personal Safety, Data Security and Privacy, while specializing in Community Networking. All tools and features on the network are designed to enhance the user's experience in terms of Productivity, Relationship Building, Communication, and Networking. You can get a lot more information on uptechincorp.com

The objective of Ourlime is to provide its users with a Safe and Secure private virtual environment where peers can Communicate, Interact, and Build Sustainable Relationships, whilst utilizing tools designed for satisfying users’ needs.

If you're a part of a School/University, Business/Corporation, Trade Union/Association, Government/Ministry, Religious Organization, NGOs, others etc., you are considered a potential user of Ourlime.

In the medium to long term, we will be looking at how we can incorporate 3D and AI to this network. Any constructive feedback? thought and views?

Hi Rishi! Good stuff! You have just outlined a list of principles that would make for a really good code of ethics. I absolutely agree that the basis of your decision-making process should be built upon these. However, solely relying on good ethics while marketing your product is not enough for building traction / a critical mass for bootstrapping your network. You shouldn't be advertising ethics, you should be advertising a solution for a tangible problem. What tangible problem are you trying to solve? Be specific.

so even though we placed emphasis on user safety and data security, we want to ensure our users get 100% privacy, there should be "NO suggested groups based on who you may know", and the reason for this and our research shows users discomfort based on this, not everyone wants their friends and families much less colleagues and peers to know what other communities they are a part off (their personal business). Having said that, the second area of focus is productivity and relationship building, users should have modern tools in their community to advance productivity and communication which would serve healthy relationship building. There is so much that we are doing with OurIime that it would be tough getting into that. If you have any suggestions with regards to solutions we would love to hear it. However if you wish to learn more, perhaps you can visit the parent site. I am truly grateful for your feedback, thank you so much.

i will do so now, I really appreciate your assistance though, problem solving is an ongoing thing, and i certainly value your support

Ourlime would give its users 100% control of their space, they can make this space 100% private. It would have resources users can utilize such as file storage, albums and a private journal, all three comes with a private code to unlock in the event someone breech this private space through the users device. There would be other resources such as games to make this space fun and editing tools for videos, images and audio etc. Users can go invisible if they choose without deleting their account. Users can shape their own views, and share it with who they choose together with full privacy. We want the user to have that feeling of being completely in control of their own content, with sharing being their own choice, especially now where people are outted routinely for pics, vids and silly comments etc. We want users to have trust and control of their own stuff.

As for community organizations, in addition to all i've mentioned, there would be algorithms that can capture underlying issues under the headings like Human Resource, Customer Services, Research etc. In addition to community tools with include project management tools etc.

Let me know if I've answered your original question a lot better.

360citywalks.com · 34d ago

Yes, now I can understand a lot better, and that's a wonderful vision you have. I like it, and candidly speaking, it is a gigantic one. It would be great if you had an ability to plug-in and out your digital being from the network. However, I think this could be solved only through consensus to use some sort of protocol rather than a single platform dominating the market. For some inspiration also check these: https://solidproject.org https://matrix.org

I think you should write an essay for enriching your vision and make sure you don't deviate from the reality and what is possible and not.

You have two choices to make it happen into a real thing. You either build it yourself or inspire others to build it for you.

Might also take a look at .. https://urbit.org/overview (https://tlon.io/)

rishikowlessar · 32d ago

Thank you for the resources (Solidproject and Matrix), both are certainly inline with what i'm trying to achieve. Even the urbit.org site shared by LinkyIO.com proved useful. I am already on the road, the vision is being realized, but getting financial support to continue development is my challenge. I am from a third world country, so it has proven even harder for me. Its really depressing and stressful, but I'm not the one to give up. Once i begin something I will not stop till its accomplished. Btw i took your advice, and i created a white paper on my vision for Ourlime. Again thank you for the resources, and feel free to share anything you think would be useful to me. Keep me in mind.

Hi Rishi!

Now you have a vision you are passionate about. The next step is taking an actionable step towards your vision. You are talking about financial constraints, you shouldn't be putting much emphasis on that, it'll get you bogged down, actually take any living person or organization, everybody has financial constraints. Instead focus on delivering/producing something useful with the current resources you have in a smart way.

I'm also in the same boat as you. Pioneer is a great resource and I would highly recommend you winning the Pioneer Tournament. It will definitely open up a whole new world for outsiders like us. There are no shortcuts. You can't have a bull's eye in a single shot. We should remember that we weren't born outright with the skills of how to walk, talk, write, and read. It had all been acquired through trial and error and a lot of smiles and cries. It is that single small incremental wins will get you to the final frontier of your mission. I'm sure you'll figure it out.

I cant thank you enough for taking the time to message me and for sharing words of encouragement. I have been following all those steps, and action has been taken. I've come a long way in 9 months alone and its because of persistence and sacrifice.

Ourlime has been financed 100% by me so far through my small business. I can proudly say that Ourlime is being built from the sale of water lilies and lotus lol. i know my small business is a complete opposite to what I'm trying to accomplish but it has worked despite the constraints and has brought me this far.

Been on pioneer two weeks and I've learnt so much. Actually enjoy giving advice and guidance based on my own knowledge and experience. It has given me the opportunity to do additional research, update my knowledge and sharpen my skills.

I am extremely grateful for persons like yourself. We'll get there in our project though, persistence, sacrifice and patience.

I feel relieved lol......This response made my day, I really appreciate it, and I will take ALL your advice. Have you ever believed in something so badly that no matter how many negatives come your way you just cant deviate from the vision itself? You're willing to sacrifice anything and do all that is necessary because of your belief. I believe in Ourlime and what it can do.....I genuinely do. It would certainly solve problems I've experienced.

thank you again, I'll screenshot your feedback lolllll

Thank you! It's all doable. Wishing you all the best. And don't forget to share your learnings along the way. Good luck!

thank you

Great project.

LinkyIO.com · 34d ago

Hey! Interesting initiatives! Several I relate with. How would you concisely phrase Ourlime's user benefits without mentioning safety, security, or privacy?

rishikowlessar · 34d ago

Excellent question lol......are you a potential competitor? lol......we certainly cant market on safety, security and privacy as just that.....we'll have to tailor our messages accordingly and direct them at the individual users and community organizations. Users may certainly enjoy a "100% Private Space" and community organizations would certainly like to know "underlying issues" as it relates to the organization's business for example HR, Customer Service etc etc. which we can do through algorithms.

i shared this comment above;

"Ourlime would give its users 100% control of their space, they can make this space 100% private. It would have resources users can utilize such as file storage, albums and a private journal, all three comes with a private code to unlock in the event someone breech this private space through the users device. Yes, well I like to think of it as being a potential collaborator. So Ourlime is a feature-rich community building platform?

rishikowlessar · 34d ago

well it is envisioned as such, we have already began development etc.....i must admit, we do have a very long way to go, and we are making progress, but financial resources is a major problem. I am the founder of ourlime, its my brainchild. I want to make a difference and hoping i can do so with ourlime.

I dont mind a "potential collaborator", i'm sure we can learn and possible work with each other. So what's your platform about if its ok for me to ask?

LinkyIO.com · 34d ago

LinkyIO is a quick and easy way to get simple one-off web pages (text, audio, images, docs, video, etc) online without setting up your own static web server, getting a blogging account, or using social media. Pages are hosted on Linky, have a short web accessible url, and can be set as discoverable by you only, by small groups, or by the general public.

rishikowlessar · 34d ago

very interesting indeed, I did check out your site, I even shared it with my colleagues, the feedback i got from them was rich and intriguing. I really like it, I see lots of potential especially with the right marketing mix.

Awesome!

manojranaweera · 34d ago

How does this differ from other social networks?

Every new social network always talks about privacy, etc. That alone isn't sufficient to survive and grow.

manojranaweera · 34d ago

Aren't you 15 years too late? Why not build this for a specific niche group of people, especially a group currently not served by existing social networks?

rishikowlessar · 34d ago

Thanks for your feedback. Can you list a few "Private COMMUNITIES" network please, STRICTLY and focused on Private Communities. This way i can research them further. Ourlime is a "Private Communities" network, conceptualized to enhance productivity, communication, networking and relationship building for peers and members belonging to private communities. Private communities and its members would remain safe and data secure with loads of tools designed to enhance productivity. Private communities may include but not limited to; Trade Union(s), School(s), University(ies), Religious Bodies, Corporation(s) etc......i dont want to be misunderstood, this is not a general social network.....there is a niche.

Now you mentioned that every new social network mentions privacy, then privacy has to be essential and must be mentioned. You are right, it isn't sufficient enough to survive therefore there must be other important elements or ingredients "somewhere" that has to differentiate this network from others if indeed there are others. Thats why i mentioned above, "tools designed to enhance productivity".

Its like every milk box mentions "nutrition", even though they are competitors, and its not sufficient enough to hold a market share, but what differentiates each of them is the demographics they may cater for, different age groups, or low fat and full cream with various nutritional values and of course price.

Our research has shown that people are willing or are already leaving current networks because of safety and data security issues. The majority of users recognizes that they are not building better or sustainable relationships on general networks. Community organizations highlights that productivity and communication is a major issue in their organization and is not currently being addressed on general social networks and the community platforms they offer. Research has shown that though many networks advertise on privacy, they are not really private. If I'm a member of a particular community on a general social network, the platform promotes these communities by highlighting "people you may know", so then where is the privacy?

We have conceptualized and redesigned based on research.
