One of the big advantages of playing Pioneer is getting a steady stream of feedback on your project from other founders.
Here are the principles that stood out to our team from the top feedback over the last week:
- Tap into your own knowledge and experience. Is there anything you could share that would accelerate the founder’s progress? Do you know anyone who could help?
- Put yourself in the shoes of the founder: How would you approach their challenges?
- Imagine you’re the target user. Would you use the product? What’s confusing?
- If you identify a problem, make specific suggestions.
- Ask whether the founder is making meaningful progress towards KPIs.
I like this idea, a lot of people in this space try to do everything so I loved that you niched at only tours. So you have made amazing progress, have you 1052 tour guides?
I just upvoted (11th) yay!
I would not pay for an African virtual tour because I am African who lives in Africa, however, I think a lot of people will. I also think that is a great way to look at the industry now that there's a pandemic.
I see you have pre-trained your model with over 20,000 images. I think a lot of E-commerce platforms would need this service so I am glad you are already contacting them. You can also reach out to big stores in Africa, starting with Jumia for possible integration. This is very innovative and in the hands of the right client and the right use case, it can indeed be revolutionary. Keep going!
Love the pitch now, so good! :) Love to see the improvement of the website as well, so fun to see that you're making progress! Have you tried partnering up with organisations where travellers may often need assistance? Or maybe even airports? I'd read up on how AirBnB kickstarted their marketplace by doing everything manually in the beginning. I'm sure you could as well. Excited to see your next update, keep it up!
Good pitch, cool website and concept! I immediately thought of the YC company https://www.stoicroutine.com, do you have any other competitors and why should I try your app instead of theirs if you were to pitch a friend who was asking? B2C is insanely difficult. If there is any way to focus this on businesses or employees, I would do it (we're literally doing it ourselves). Target high stress companies? GL!
That is such a freakin' awesome feedback request, especially the 'very few people know about' line. OK, let me think.
Healthcare providers in Rwanda, where I live, struggle to upload information about their income and expenditure to a central government database on time. Adjacent problem, in South Africa: scanning and parsing healthcare procurement contracts.
Yes - I would highly recommend Stacker, which I was co-founder of: https://stacker.app. It uses Airtable as the back-end (so you can then get users to sign up simply with an Airtable form). For what you're doing, which seems reasonably non-tech driven, I think it would be a great fit. It is expensive but I think you'll find it much cheaper than wasting time and money on developers. Lmk if you have questions.
Great to see you follow the steps on the launcher, nice job! I can see this as a kind of AirBnB
style company so you might be able to get some tips on growth from their story:https://bit.ly/3nFklJM. I feel like what's missing from the site are what the expectations for travellers and aides i.e. what level of help am I expected to give/receive? Are there extra costs etc? Perhaps a FAQ would be a good idea. Good luck!
Congrats on meeting your KPI's, awesome job! On the landing page I'd put the popular searches above the PH button just below the search bar - I only realised the page was scrollable by accident - thought it was a one pager. Also a live feed of what people are searching (like Amazon) might be nice. We rely on network effects so to 10x we need to reach critical mass. Good luck this week on hitting $1k!
